KIKUUBE | POLICE | MURDER

Police in the Kikuube district are investigating circumstances under which a man in his 30s was murdered and his body dumped in the bush.

According to the Albertin region police spokesperson, Julius Hakiiza, the body of the unidentified man was found lying in a bush in Butyaba village, Kamusunsi ward in Kiziranfumbi sub-county.

Hakiiza says the body of the deceased was discovered by herdsmen who were grazing cows in the bush on Tuesday.

He adds that police suspect the deceased was killed in a different place and his body was carried and dumped in Butyaba village. He says that residents in the area have failed to identify the deceased.

Hakiza notes that the deceased’s body was found with bruises on the neck, creating a suspicion that he was murdered by strangling.

Hakiiza said that the body of the deceased is currently lying at the police morgue in Hoima city, adding that police have launched investigations and are hunting for the murderers.

He calls on whoever has a missing person who is a male adult to cross-check with Hoima City Mortuary.

This is the second person to be murdered by unknown assailants in Kikube district, and the body was dumped in the bush on August 15th.

The decomposing body of an unidentified male adult was discovered in Kyamugoba, Butole parish in Buhimba sub-county in Kikuube district.

This increasing murder in the area in the district has left security worried and is calling for police to be vigilant and security-conscious.
