Kabarole lake turns green

For decades, the lake has been the lifeline of communities in Kibuga A, Kibuga B, Muhwezi, Nyakishojwa, Nyabweya C and Mutukula zones. Families have used its water for drinking, cooking, bathing, washing utensils and watering gardens. But over the past three years, residents have noticed the water changing to a vivid green, raising fears about its safety.
