The Inspectorate of Government (IG) has ordered for interdiction of Jamil Kabiito, the Principal Human Resource officer of Kyotera District Local Government.

This was after the Inspectorate of Government conducted investigations into allegations of irregular payments of salaries to teachers and health workers in Rakai district and established that a total of sh659m was irregularly paid to 171 teachers and health workers in Rakai district in 2014/15 financial year.

The IG consequently ordered the staff to refund the money to the Inspectorate of Government Assets recovery account held in Bank of Uganda in July 2021.

“You are, therefore, hereby directed to immediately interdict Mr Jamil Kabiito, Principal Human Resource Officer without any further delay,” the deputy Inspector General of Government Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe stated in a letter dated April 6, 2024 addressed to Kyotera Chief Administrative Officer and LC5 chairperson.

The letter was copied to the Ministry of Local Government Permanent Ministry and Kyotera Resident District Commissioner.
