According to Mukasa, buyers complain that some rabbit farmers are not serious because they easily supply once, but when they are called to supply for a second time, they cannot do it.

Hajji Muawiya Mukasa of Kapeeka Agro and Live Stock farm gave tips on how prospective rabbit growers can tap into the market that they think is unattainable. This was during the training on rabbitry that took place February 14, at the Harvest Money Expo 2025 at Namboole Stadium.

Organized by Vision Group, it was running under the theme, Farming as a Business, Value Addition and Cooperatives. Mukasa was answering the farmers' questions, including how to rear quality animals. If the quality of the animal the person buys is good, they can be sure to return and buy the next time. “In Iganga, someone can offer sh5,000 for a rabbit. It is as if they are doing you a favour to buy your animal,” Maureen Namukose, a teacher in Iganga, said.

According to Mukasa, buyers complain that some rabbit farmers are not serious because they easily supply once, but when they are called to supply for a second time, they cannot do it. For rabbit growers to find a market, they need to consistently have enough supply for their prospective clients.

The expo was sponsored by ENGSOL, aBi, Bella Wine, Uganda Development Corporation, Tunga Nutrition, and Pepsi in partnership with the Kingdom of Netherlands.
