Green schools excites new entrants

Green schools open for the second time, and schools joining the campaign for the first time are excited about the project which they termed an interesting program.

Nabudde Margaret the Headteacher of Nabumali High School delightedly thanked the Greening school officials for accepting her school to be part of this interesting program.  

“As a school, we are committed to having this program both at school and the community around school,” said Nabudde.

On 22nd March 2024, Nabumali High School officially launched the Green School program for 2024 at an assembly.

“We shall engage different stakeholders from Elgon Region to see that the entire community is green through our school Scouts environmental conservation program,” she explained.

The school is proud to be part of the Green Schools program.

Background

The Green School is implemented by the New Vision, the Swedish Embassy, and the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United States to inculcate good conservation habits among young people.

The project targets to benefit about 100 secondary schools around the country, which have been implementing different projects aimed at mitigating the impact of climate change.
