Mirjam Blaak, the Ugandan ambassador to the Netherlands, has asked the 2024 Best Farmers to grab the European markets.
On Tuesday evening, the farmers who are visiting the Netherlands received a high-level visitor.

Blaak visited the farmers at their hotel, Fletcher Hotel in Doorwerth. In her message to the them, she congratulated them for winning the Best Farmers Competition, but advised them to take this as an opening for better markets.

"There are so many opportunities here in Europe, and on the other hand, Uganda too has a lot of potential as an agricultural country. If you combine the two, you can benefit a lot," she said.
The ambassador told the farmers that although the Netherlands was such a small country, it is the second-highest exporter of agricultural products after the USA.

"This is only possible because they never get tired of innovating. So, I implore you to pick some of this knowledge and take it back home to our farmers," she said.
The farmers who were flagged off to the Netherlands on October 4, will return tomorrow (October 11).

The best farmers competition is organised by Vision Group with sponsorship from the Embassy of the Netherlands, dfcu Bank, KLM Airlines and Koudjis Nutrition BV.
