Experts explain increasing temperatures

Weather Experts from the Department of the Meteorological Services under the Ministry of Water and Environment have explained the increasing temperature and advised the public to drink more water.

According to Micheal Lubega, the temperatures have risen to 34.4 degrees celcius from the usual extremes of 31 degrees and this was last experienced 5 years ago in Kampala.

Lubega attributed the extreme high temperatures to the delayed rainfall and the movement of the Sun towards the Equator.

He said this in an interview with our reporter at Makerere University weather station where he also revealed that the seasonal rains are expected mid-March although some off-season showers are also expected in a few days.
