At least 34 killed in Indonesia floods, 16 missing

Hours of heavy rain caused flooding in two districts -- Agam and Tanah Datar -- in West Sumatra province on Saturday evening, threatening thousands after it swept ash and large rocks down Mount Marapi.

This handout aerial image taken and released by Indonesia's Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) on May 12, 2024, shows the damaged area after flash floods and cold lava flow from a volcano in Tanah Datar, West Sumatra. (AFP)
