UPDF Air Force deputy commander slips in bathroom, dies

WAKISO - Brig. Gen Stephen Kiggundu of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) is dead.

The deputy Air Forces (UPDF-AF) commander passed on Sunday, March 31, 2024, following a bathroom accident, according to a statement from army spokesperson Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye.

"It's with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the UPDF informs the public of the untimely demise of Brig. Gen. Kiggundu, Deputy Commander Air Force which occurred in the evening of today, March 31, 2024, at his official residence in Entebbe," Kulayigye says in the statement.

He added that Kiggundu was well all day until the evening of Sunday when he met his death in his bathroom.

"The UPDF fraternity and the UPDF air force wing will miss Brig. Gen. Kiggundu at this time when his services were most needed to continue strengthening our Airfoce capabilities."
