Miss Uganda Hannah Karema Tumukunde has returned from the Miss World competition, vowing to  continue helping the girl-child.

Karema came back  on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 12:30pm using the Uganda Airlines. She was accompanied by family members and friends that had gone to give her support on her quest for the Miss World crown, which was taken by Krystyna Pyszková of Czech Republic last Saturday.

On arrival, Karema said she was glad she not only participated in the competition, but also put up a great show and raised Uganda’s flag high, having been among the top eight in the battle for the Miss World Crown and first-runner up in  the Miss World Africa crown. She also won Miss World Beauty With a Purpose Africa.

Karema pledged to continue doing her humanitarian work of ensuring the girl-child completes school without the risk of early marriages.

She called upon Ugandans to help her out in this cause, saying there a number of things they can do such as buying sanitary pads to ensure girls in rural areas don’t miss school because of menstruation.

Karema added that she is trying to set up a school in her village in Nakaseke district.

She thanked Ugandans for supporting her on her journey saying there were a lot of beautiful and wise girls, but the confidence she had because of the support kept her going.
