Museveni sends special message to Qatari leader

The message was received by HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, during his meeting with Senior Advisor to the Ugandan President for Middle East Affairs Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Kisuule.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has received a written message from President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, pertaining to bilateral relations and ways to support and develop them.

The message was received by HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, during his meeting with Senior Advisor to the Ugandan President for Middle East Affairs Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Kisuule and the accompanying delegation.

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani assumed his duties as Amir of the State of Qatar on June 25, 2013, following the announcement of His Highness the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in an address to the Qatari people, of his decision to hand over power to his Heir Apparent and the pledge of allegiance to HH Sheikh Tamim by the Qatari people as the new Amir.

In 2022, Uganda exported $11.7M to Qatar. The main products exported from Uganda to Qatar were Bran ($5.76M), tropical fruits ($3.56M), and fish fillets ($970k).

During the last 26 years, the exports of Uganda to Qatar have increased at an annualized rate of 11.3%, from $729k in 1996 to $11.7M in 2022.

In 2021, Qatar exported $14.6M to Uganda. There were not main exports from Qatar to Uganda in 2021.
