Egyptian national goes missing in Soroti city

The Territorial Police in the East Kyoga region have launched an investigation into the disappearance of Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim, 32, an Egyptian national who has been a resident in Camp Swahili Cell A, Camp Swahili ward, Soroti city west division.

Zinhom was last seen at his residence on the evening of February 23. 2024, with his two friends, one of whom has been identified as fellow Egyptian Muhammad Nabil Ali and another of similar origin whose particulars are not yet known.

Zinhom has been a businessman dealing with kitchenware in Soroti city.

“Preliminary findings into the disappearance indicate that on Saturday the 24,02,2024, one Kisolo Mark an employee of the victim went to the above address but instead got the door padlocked and a key was placed next to the window which he used to open the door and found no one,” the Police said in a statement issued by the spokesman SP Oscar Gregg Ageca.

“A case of disappearance was registered at Soroti City East Division vide SD Ref 02/25/02/2024 who also recovered the trouser the victim was dressed on the night he was last seen. We also suspect foul play based on the analysis of the victim’s house by a team of detectives and crime scene Officers,” the statement further read.

The Police are asking the public for information about Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim to be provided on toll free numbers 112 or 999 or brought to East Kyoga regional headquarters or at Soroti West Division Police Station.
