Michael Monne carded 68nett to win the Entebbe Club February MTN Monthly Tees Tournament at Entebbe Club on Saturday.

He is not the kind of player who does prepare for events but one who comes to enjoy but his steadiness when he reports on the course has won him several plaudits, including making it to last year’s Grand Mug of Mugs final.

During the weekend action, his overall game was on the spot as he clinched the overall gong, beating Emma Mugabi on countback to top the championship that attracted 153 golfers.

Regular campaigner Michael Tumusiime also returned to the podium, edging Peter Apell on countback after both returned 74nett in the men’s Group A.

Saidi Kirarira is becoming untouchable in the men’s Group B and just like last month, he finished top beating Albert Gitta also on countback after both scored 69nett.

In the Men's Group C Emma Mugabi emerged the best with 68nett, whereas Drake Tukamuhabwa finished second with 69nett.

Bridget Basiima who won the overall Mug of Mugs tournament last year topped the ladies Group A with 69nett, beating squash ace Edith Wamalwa who finished with 72nett.

Jamil Maningi who scooped the seniors’ trophy and Ivan Ssettimba who was the guest winner completed the February podium finishes.
