Nekesa told the gathering that she tried her level best to plead with the attackers not to take her life and revealed that the attackers used both Kiswahili and Luganda to ask for the key to the safe where the money had been kept.

"As soon as they accessed my bedroom, I went on my knees and pleaded with them not to shoot me because my children would become orphans at an early age" Nekesa said.

"Thank God that they did not even touch my body or do any harm to me. They told me that they had been instructed to only pick the money and not cause any harm to me" she said.

She said that whereas she shouted out for help from her security personnel, all was in vain since the attackers had disabled all the security alerts before accessing their bedroom.

"My heart is bleeding because I have children who are now grown up and active on social media. Such disrespectful information can cause stigma. Such intimidation can even force them out of school" she said.

Nekesa also used the same platform to thank the people of Busia and the government for the support rendered to her after the attack.

"Allow me to take this chance to thank God that the attackers made away with the money but did not take away my life or even touch me. Let's also use this chance to thank my husband for being understanding and not taking social media claims seriously " Nekesa said.
