The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has launched a three-day greater Masaka youth leaders ideological camp.

The work camp intends to enhance the youths' knowledge on patriotism, empowering youth leaders through enhancing ideological orientation, core leadership values and skills, civic duties, and enhancing mindset change.

In December 2022, NRM party released a report NRM showing that due to perception citing neglect, some regions had presented growing hostility among the youths towards the NRM political organisation and the government.

“The work camp is not for only NRM leaders. We have invited all political, religious and cultural leaders across the four out of the six constituencies that make up greater Masaka,” Rosemary Sseninde, the NRM head of mobilization said while addressing the media at St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School, Kasasa on Tuesday.

She said the camp has attracted thousands of youth leaders from Masaka, Masaka City, Kalungu, and Bukomansimbi districts.

Sseninde said the party intends to extend the ideological camps to other parts of the country.

“This camp is not partisan. We organized this camp on behalf of our country NRM party that is why we invited all leaders irrespective of their political affiliations", said head of NRM publicity and communication Emmanuel Dombo.
