Mulanda slapped with 12-match ban for headbutting referee

Busoga United’s Charles Mulanda has been handed a 10-match ban by the FUFA Disciplinary Panel, has handed after he headbutted a referee during the Uganda Premier League match against Gaddafi on October 24, 2023, at Gaddafi Arena in Jinja.  

This means that Mulanda who must serve an additional two-match ban after he was also sent off in that match, will miss 12 matches in total. 

Mulanda has also been fined sh500,000 which he must to pay immediately on top of being prohibited from taking part in any football-related activities. 

The Panel has opened disciplinary proceedings against Mbale Heroes for alleged acts of violence and hooliganism perpetrated against match officials by their fans and its official Badru Chemisto after the FUFA Big League game against Young Elephants on October 22, 2023, at Mbale Municipal stadium. 

Mbale Heroes and Chemisto have been given up to Tuesday, October 31, to submit their written responses to contend and or dispute allegations.
