How the stock market fared in Tuesday’s session

Market turnover at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) closed Tuesday at sh40m dealt across four active counters according to data from Crested Capital. 

Stanbic dominated the day’s session with a turnover worth about sh35m from nearly 1.1 million shares traded. MTN Uganda followed with a turnover of sh4.3m from 25,635 shares, Bank of Baroda (BOBU) moved sh1.1m from 77,000 shares, and Uganda Clays Limited traded a meagre about sh32,799 from 2,523 shares.

On share price movement, the share price of Stanbic gained 3.23% to sh32, while the other active counters remained stable during the session. MTN traded at sh170, BOBU at sh15, and UCL at sh13 per share.

The USE All Share Index (ALSI) dropped 0.38% to 925.20, while the C10, Crested’s local companies’ index appreciated 0.68% to 101.56 on the day.
