A coalition of parents has commended President Yoweri Museveni and his government for standing firm amid increasing pressure from the World Bank to twist African society's morals.

“As parents, we wish to acknowledge the President for taking the brave and significant step in affirming what we stand for as a country despite threats to cut aid,” Eng. Stephen Langa, the executive director of Family Life Network.

Family Life Network (FLN) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Kampala that is committed to the restoration of family values and morals.

The NGO offers counseling services for families, and teenagers, premarital counseling, and sensitization talks for youths and parents including virtual and corporate counseling.

According to Langa, the NGO in collaboration with its partners such as the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) has called upon parents, well-wishers, government, and organizations in Africa and beyond who cherish family, moral, cultural, and religious values “to rise and take a stand against this evil destructive vice” which they say is disguised as human rights.

This comes in the wake of the World Bank's recent announcement this August that it will halt new loans to Uganda over the enactment of an Anti-gay law.
