A 28-year-old man in Madi Okollo district has allegedly been killed by his cousin over a land dispute.

Fred Ejoyi was allegedly attacked by his cousin, Philliam Amagu, his wife and others at his home in Ariajobi village in Rhino Camp sub-county on Sunday evening.

West Nile Police region spokesperson Josephine Angucia, said the deceased had last month reported a case of assault of his wife, Jennifer Ikoro by Amagu at Yoro Police Station in Terego.

Angucia said the suspect, together with his wife (not mentioned), mobilised some youth on Sunday and beat up Ejoyi, leading to his death.

She added that it was when the deceased's wife escaped with their three-month-old child to Nyoro Police Station and reported a case of murder that the Police swung into action.

“The deceased’s wife after seeing that the husband was murdered, rushed to Nyoro Police Station where she registered a case of murder," Angucia said.

Angucia said the murder suspects are still on the run and added that investigations into the matter are still ongoing as she warned the residents against taking the law into their hands.
