Vicar tips Catholic professionals on solidarity

The Kampala Archdiocesan Episcopal Vicar for the Catholic Professionals, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Larry Ssemusu has asked the Catholic professionals of Ggaba Catholic parish to strengthen their friendship and concern for each other. 

 He discouraged the sub-culture of selfishness and individualism, to which he attributed the failure of many educated and highly talented professionals.

Ssemusu later asked the Catholic professionals to be mindful of the needs of the people in their home communities and consequently use their professions and social networks to transform them.

“Catholic professionals should not be seen to be sleeping giants. Please put your faith in action through your respective professions. Accept your turning point. Always endeavor to be people of impact, people who are listened to when you speak. Love your places of origin and always endeavor to transform them using your professions and social networks,” Ssenusu said.

He was presiding over the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the association of the Catholic professionals of Ggaba Catholic Parish. The function took place at St. Karoli Lwanga Catholic Church, Ggaba, in Makindye Division.

Earlier during the thanksgiving mass, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, the Rt. Hon Thomas Tayebwa also asked the Catholic professionals to be a dynamic association with oozes influence in society.  He further asked them to work harmoniously with the government to uplift the living conditions of the people.

The President of the Catholic Association of Professionals in Uganda (CAPU), Dr. Andrew Ssekitooleko called for teamwork among members of the association.

The President of the Catholic Professionals of Ggaba parish, Maxine Kaddu promised to strengthen the structures of the association, to make it even more effective in its operations.

The function climaxed with an exciting exhibition that showcased the various professional/business activities of the Catholic professionals.
