He tweeted on Tuesday: “These young [men]! Where is Lwemiyaga BTW (by the way)? Or you mean Rwomuyaga? Don't mix-up in Volongoto politics; foto-foto! I'm looking after my cows in Ishembare (Sembabule). Mundeke [leave me alone]!"

Retired UPDF general David Sejusa was Tuesday not amused by comments suggesting that he would contest for the Lwemiyaga County parliamentary seat in the 2026 elections.

Sejusa, 67, was part of the group of senior military officers that officially retired from the army last month (August 31).

In the wake of comments pointing at his perceived political ambitions, the former co-ordinator of intelligence services did not have kind words for those peddling the suggestive information.

For emphasis, Sejusa posted a photo of himself seated and looking relaxed in an undisclosed location, wearing a cap and striking a pensive look.

Sejusa has continued to keep a low profile into his retirement from the army, and mostly remains active on social media.

Fred Nshemereirwe, who describes himself as “CEO~ #GreenAmazon” on his Twitter page, tweeted on Tuesday that the retired general would run for the Lwemiyaga County MP seat in 2026.

He added: “[Theodore] Ssekikubo is serving his last term [as] a Member of Parliament for Lwemiyaga, he will be relocating to Kasambya constituency to battle with NRM MP @DaudiKabanda,” he wrote.

This prompted Sejusa's reaction, and when the military officer denied the claim, Nshemereirwe responded that “time will tell" and that “#2026 is not far".

Kabanda was also drawn in, saying: “Ssekikubo is my senior. If he decides so, I will just vacate the position for him.”

Our attempts to get Ssekikubo on phone to comment on this matter were futile.
