AGAGO - Two Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) soldiers have been shot dead in the latest attacks by suspected Karimojong cattle rustlers in Paimol, Lai Muto town council in Agago district.

The army's fifth division spokesperson, Amos Nsamba confirmed the incident and said two of their soldiers were shot dead with several others wounded in the attacks.

He identified the deceased as Patrick Odong and Bashir, both attached to the 5th Division in Acholi-Pii in Pader district.

Nsamba added that the army is still pursuing the raiders who also fled with stolen cattle.

He said several animals were looted by the warriors in the wee hours of September 7 in Paimol, leaving residents in fear.
