MUBS' head of human resource passes on

The late Dr. Jolly Kabagabe Byarugaba, Head of Human Resource Department, Faculty of Management at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has been hailed as a mother figure who mentored thousands of students. 

She has also been described as understanding, especially with students who had issues with their marks.

Dr. Kabagabe died on Friday, April 8, 2022, at Rubaga Hospital.

Secretary to the Treasury Ramathan Ggoobi said, “I am saddened to learn of the sudden passing of a senior colleague at MUBS, Dr. Jolly Kabagabe Byarugaba. When I passed by MUBS a fortnight ago, she was so happy to see me. My sincere sympathies to her family and the entire MUBS family. May her soul Rest in Peace.”

Lomali Benard said, “I will personally miss you as your former student at MUBS. I am this because you touched my life as a student of MUBS and more so as a Human Resource student. Rest well, Doctor. Till we meet again.”

Andresiru Maurine said, “It’s very unfortunate that we have lost an important icon as the MUBS fraternity. May her soul rest in peace, and may God comfort her family.”

Trold Trold said, “It's too painful to take in. She was a mother figure to me. She was my supervisor at Undergraduate, and always guided me in many things. It's heartbreaking. RIP Dr. Jolly.”

Anita Keza said, "Oh no. My once lecturer and research supervisor. She was more than a lecturer; she was a counsellor and mother. May her soul rest in peace."

There will be a church service for the late Dr. Kabagabe at St. James Chapel Makerere University Business School on Monday, April 11, 2022, at 09:00 am.
