Govt to enact special health hospital bill

HEALTH | GOVERNMENT | HOSPITAL BILL

KAMPALA - Government is in the process of developing a special health hospital bill, the director curative services at the health ministry Dr. Charles Olaro has said.

“Once the bill is developed we shall have a framework of how we optimise the equipment and human resources,” Dr. Olaro noted.  

He further noted that within the framework, health workers will be allowed to work in different hospitals on particular scheduled time.

Dr. Olaro was speaking during the recent Cardiac Diagnostic Center Symposium organised by Nakasero hospital at Onomo Hotel under the theme: “Understanding the capability of interventional procedures in managing heart disease”

During the symposium, Nakasero hospital launched a catheterization laboratory, one of the first in private facilities. 

Catheterization operation involves accessing the heart through the blood vessels. Using a tube, a coil or clamp is put to close the hole instead of opening up the heart.
