Million Tree International Organisation has donated 500 tree seedlings to the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF).
The seedlings have been today handed over to the UPDF Chief of Civil-Military Cooperation Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Rwashande at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs headquarters in Mbuya.
The donation, comprising mangoes, oranges, and guava tree seedlings is a Corporate Social Responsibility for Million Trees Company to UPDF in commemorations of the latter's 41st Tarehe Sita Anniversary scheduled to take place on 6th next month in Mbale.
Dr. Gibril Owomugisha, on behalf of Million Trees International Organization, promised they would partner with various stakeholders to double forest cover from the current 12.4 percent.
The event, which involved of planting of some tree seedlings, was witnessed by representatives from the UPDF Chieftaincy of Political Commissariat, Defence Spokesperson and others from Million Trees International Organization
