Namibia 3 Uganda 0

Hockey She Cranes head coach Franchesco Richichi believes his team lost concentration in their opening game against Namibia in the Hockey Africa Nations Cup.

Richichi was speaking after Uganda went down 3-0 to Namibia on Monday at Theodosia Okoh National Hockey Stadium in Ghana.

"My players started well the game but along the way, we lost concentration and conceded in the latter minutes of the game. But we are going to work on that as we get into the second game on Wednesday,” Richichi noted.

Indeed Uganda started with very calm ball passing and carried on until the second quarter when their opponents Namibia mounted a lot of pressure on them until they let in two goals.

The She Cranes forward line tried to make a comeback, but their efforts didn't work out.

Namibia’s Coetzee Antihea scored the first goal in the 40th minute through a penalty corner after the She Cranes failed to defend hence exposing the goalkeeper who had no chance whatsoever to prevent the goal from being scored.

However, due to the complacency of the Ugandan players on the pitch, Myburgh Haramanle scored the second goal for Namibia before Rix Chsrize made it 3-0.

Uganda managed to keep the cards tally down having only got a single green card in the entire game that was booked to Norah Alum.

The She Cranes return to action against Zimbabwe on Tuesday.
