Starting a graphic design business needs one to have a good laptop or desktop computer with good RAM which is about 8GB and above.

Jonathan Mayer Musimbi, the CEO and founder of Simbi visuals, a media company that does graphic, website design, and digital marketing say a good graphics card, the good storage capacity of 500gb and above other accessories like a mouse and digital pen should also be added on the requirements one needs to start a graphics design business.

Musimbi says a notebook and pen for drafting designs, before putting them into soft copy shouldn’t be left out.

“There is various software for graphic design, such as the Adobe software family mainly Illustrator, Photoshop, After effects, Premiere Pro, Affinity Designer, Inscape, and Pixel lab, among others, from which a graphics designer should choose in order to get good works.

Another issue is that if you want your graphic design business to keep on-trend, learning never stops.  You should consequently seek for information daily to expand your knowledge in graphics’ Musimbi says

Although Musimbi, aged 22 is still a student in his third year at Kyambogo University pursuing a BSc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics, he decided to start a graphics designing business during this lockdown out of passion.

He, however, says he will maintain the business even when he completes his course as a side business.
