Rugby teams have got more time to prepare for the 2021 National Rugby 7s series.

This after Uganda Rugby Union moved the games meant to begin on Saturday, September 18, to October 2, 2021.

Oscar Olaro, the union vice-president in charge of Technical affairs confirmed the development to Vision Sports saying they want to be ready before starting the series.

“I know the players are hungry to play the ball, but we did not want to start the games when we are not ready. So, we had to postpone the event as we finalise our arrangements,” Olaro said.

Sports activities were much affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and many federations including the rugby union are planning to restart the game.

The national sevens circuit will have six legs of which three will be held upcountry in Eastern, Northern, and Western regions.

Stanbic Black Pirates, Warriors, Heathens, Makerere Impis, Rams Jinja Hippos, Sailors, Toyota Buffaloes Plascon Mongers, and Defending champions Betway Kobs will be joined by two invitation sides.
