COVID-19 | DR OGWANG | FOOD DONATION

KAMPALA - Dr. Patrick Ogwang, the scientist behind Covidex, has donated food relief to vulnerable residents of Kamwokya.

The items which included; beans, rice, maize and laundry soap were handed over to Esther Sabiiti, the Assistant Vicar of St. John’s Church Kamwokya.

Ogwang said the donation is aimed at helping people who have nothing to eat because their normal lifestyles have been affected by the COVID -19 prevention measures.

“The food is meant to benefit the most vulnerable and those hit by the COVID-19 lockdown,” Ogwang.

He urged development partners to support disadvantaged persons with relief food to ensure families don’t starve.

Ogwang said part of his Covidex proceedings will go towards saving some vulnerable families within all Kampala city divisions. He trades as Jena Herbal U Ltd.

Sabiiti thanked the scientist saying the food aid was timely. “We thank the professor for standing with the people at this difficult time and for supporting our vulnerable population,” Sabiiti said.

She encouraged more well-wishers to give this kind of support to our vulnerable groups and those worst hit by COVID 19 measures,” she said after receiving the relief food for distribution to needy families.
