HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

On this father's day, I reflect on my fatherhood journey. I want to thank God who deemed me faithful to entrust me with the title of father.

First of all, let me thank my wife who endured the pains of making me a father. Thank you so much my sweet wife, I love 💕 you more than words can express.

I want to thank God for each one of my children who fills my cup of joy 😹.

There is nothing in the world that matures a man like being a father. In this school of fatherhood, I am learning patience, sacrifice, hard work, love, carefulness, accountability and many more. I can't claim to be a perfect father in this flesh and blood but one thing I know, I am working hard to be an intentional father ready to learn and change.

I resolved to be in the life of my children from the day they are born. I intentionally learnt how to change diapers, bath babies, make their bed and food, to wake them up to use the bathroom, prepare and take them to school. One time, I had the honor of home 🏡 schooling them.

I have enjoyed those childish games they play in the on our way to school. Something I will never forget is how each one wanted to take the front seat. To do so, one had to scream on top of his/her voice "Short Gun🔫".

Whoever mentioned it first, was the one to take the front seat  and no one would argue over it. Those moments have helped me a lot to bond and make friendship with my children and am forever grateful.

My big girl has finished her first degree. We can talk about anything freely, let it be guys hitting on her, her fears and anxieties.

When my son celebrated 18 years, he thought he was ready to have a relationship with the girl. He told us about it and we asked for an appointment to meet with his girl friend. I have never seen my son excited as he was when he was preparing to introduce his girl friend. The girl was also 18 years old. Don't forget, he didn't even have money for lunch, we footed the bill.

Appointment day came, we went with him to the venue,  I sat with my wife on the table, he was moving up and down as you can imagine. Boom💥, the girl arrived with her mother (after meet and greet, the mother left). We made it easy, we talked and asked few questions which surprisingly awakened both of them to believe that they were not ready for a serious relationship.

We prayed with them but inside we knew 100%, it wasn't going to work - at least not now. After few weeks, he asked me for an appointment to talk. He told me that he thought deeply on what we shared and realized that he was not ready for a relationship with the girl and he didn't want to break her heart. He further told me that they talked over it again and accepted to remain just friends. I had a good father-son talk. I shared a lot about the relationship thing. He is now at the University taking a course for 4 years and has just finished one year.

Imagine if I didn't build a good environment for him to share his feelings, what would happen to him and the girl?

Let's try our best to be intentional fathers to change ourselves and the next generation.

Remember, any MAN can BECOME a Father but  BEING a Father,  takes a REAL MAN.

Best Wishes On Your Fatherhood Journey.

Happy Father's Day.
