Govt releases program for presidential swearing in ceremony

President Museveni is set to be inaugurated for the sixth term after winning January's presidential elections.

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 8:00am with President-elect arriving at the venue at 10:40am along with the First Lady and Minister of Education, Janet Kataha Museveni.

PRESIDENCY | MUSEVENI | SWEARING-IN 

KAMPALA - The Minister of the presidency Esther Mbayo will take over Master of ceremonies duties at the Kololo Independence Grounds on Wednesday (May 11, 2021) as country witnesses the presidential inaugurations.

President Museveni is set to be inaugurated for the sixth term after winning January's presidential elections.

According to the program, Mbayo will work alongside Alice Muwanguzi and Brig. Gen. Flavia Byekwaso, the UPDF Spokesperson.

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 8:00am with President-elect arriving at the venue at 10:40am along with the First Lady and Minister of Education, Janet Kataha Museveni.

On hand to receive the president-elect will include H.E the Vice President Edward Sekandi, Rt. Hon. Prime Minister, Ruhakana Rugunda, and the Minister in Charge of the Presidency as well as the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet and Security Chiefs.

The event is scheduled to end at 2:30pm and will be held under strict observance of Covid-19 guidelines, and attendance will be by invite only.  

A total of over 4000 guests including 11 heads of state are expected to attend.
