Banana wilt hits farms in western, central Uganda.

Following the outbreak of the banana bacterial wilt in parts of central and western Uganda, many farmers are cutting down their plantations to contain the disease, hence losing their source of income. Many families also survive on posho as their staple food crop dies out, writes GERALD TENYWA and ALOYSIUS BYAMUKAMA
