Last Chance for Chance Nalubega?

EITHER this was the last chance for album launches or it was the last chance for Chance Nalubega. Her Tonkyawa album launch at Sabrina’s Pub on Friday was the definition of three phrases; flop, poor organisation and rusty performances.

EITHER this was the last chance for album launches or it was the last chance for Chance Nalubega. Her Tonkyawa album launch at Sabrina’s Pub on Friday was the definition of three phrases; flop, poor organisation and rusty performances.

The bad weather may have been a deterrent for some of her fans. But for even the few that made it, what they witnessed was a show without any highlights.

It was mainly a ladies’s night out. All the curtain raisers, save for Moses “Supercharger” Nsubuga, were women. But the audience’s low spirits lowered the artistes’ performance energy. For Winnie Munyega’s husband to dose through her performance was representative of what many other artistes’ faced.

After performing, Nalubega ended up in tears backstage when she realised she had performed to empty seats for most of the time. She should have blamed the MC, Omulangira Ndausi, whose time-wasting caused a rush to the exit even before Nalubega performed.

Ndausi promised that the audience was going to see “something they will tell for the next three generations”. But incidentally, it will be a sad tale to tell.
