CONSULTANCY SERVICES TO PREPARE PLANS AND DESIGNS FOR WATER HARVESTING AND FLOOD CONTROL STRUCTURES AND BIOPHYSICAL CONSERVATION STRUCTURES AND TRAIN COMMUNITIES IN MAZIBA, AWOJA AND ASWA CATCHMENTS

The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) has received funding from the Adaptation Fund through Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) for implementing the "Enhancing Resilience of Communities to Climate Change through Catchment Based Integrated Management of Water and Related Resources in Uganda (EURECCCA)" Project. The MWE intends to use part of the funds to prepare plans and designs for water harvesting and fl ood control structures and biophysical conservation structures and train communities in Maziba, Awoja and Aswa Catchments. The consultancy is intended to; (i)Assess the potential areas for water harvesting and fl ood control, and biophysical conservation in agricultural landscapes, and identify and describe the actions, and design interventions to be implemented for water harvesting and fl ood control, and biophysical conservation structures, (ii) Identify, engage and build capacity of stakeholders in construction of water harvesting and fl ood control, and biophysical conservation structures, (iii) Prepare a costed plan for constructing water harvesting and flood control, and biophysical conservation structures in agricultural landscapes
