The Minister for Kampala, Betty Kamya, has warned Old Kampala Secondary School students against further strikes.

The school which officially re-opens today had been shut down by the Education Ministry and KCCA after students went on rampage, protesting the transfer of the headmistress Aziida Nsubuga Ntegana.

In the chaos that ensued, one of the students was shot by Police.

Kamya said students should focus on what took them to school rather than strikes which will cost.

"There is a price to pay, you can't have your cake and eat it. If there is a riot in the school it has to be sorted" Kamya said.

"Parents and children should know that there are consequences. They didn't want the headmistress to be transferred but the right to transfer remains with government" Kamya added.

According to the program released by Ministry of Education permanent secretary, Alex Kakooza, students will continue reporting to school from today up to Friday with their parents or guardians.
