KAMPALA - Uganda's most successful club SC Villa has acquired the services of Agape SS goalkeeper Sanon Mulabi on a three-year deal.
Mulabi, who put up an impressive performance in the just concluded school's tournament, COPA Cola Cola Football Championship, in Masaka, will be officially unveiled at the new club when the local transfer window opens on July 1.
Since its inauguration, the schools' event has been the breeding ground for national players like Farouk Miya, Godfrey Walusimbi, Shaban Muhamad and Khalid Aucho among others.
Jinja SS won this year's final after beating St Mary's Kitende 4-3 on penalties after a one-all draw in normal time.
Mulabi's arrival at Villa Park may lead to the departure of either Burundian goalkeeper Arthur Arakaza or Ashadu Bugembe who did not have enough playing time last season.
Samson Kirya has been the main man in SC Villa's goal.
Yasin Mugabi, another SC Villa goalkeeper, is currently on loan at Police FC.
Villa completed the season second with 58 points, eight below league champions KCCA FC, who successfully defended their title.
