Civil society calls for streamlining of tax holidays

According to current budget of 2016/2017 indicates that the government paid 77 Billion Uganda Shillings as taxes for companies which were exempted from paying taxes by the government.

A section of Civil Society organizations wants government to streamline the procedures of awarding tax holidays to foreign companies.

SEATIN Uganda's Programs Officer Nelly Busingye says parliament must intervene urgently into the procedures of exempting foreign companies from paying taxes because its a burden to the economy.
