Two suspects have been arrested by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in connection with trying to sell off part of Wilson Road to a developers alleging to be the owners of the plot.

The plot located behind Arua Park was being sold off to a developer by the suspects alleging to be the owners of the plot and are in procession of the title deed.

The road connects Wilson Road to Benedicto Kiwanuka Road and is a busy city hub where lorries, buses and other heavy truck load and offload goods to Kikuubo Shopping Centre.

"They forged documents like the title deeds saying that the properties were from KCCA," the director physical planning at KCCA, Moses Atwine told New Vision.

Atwine could not divulge further details, saying the investigating team at KCCA was still probing the matter.

According to the director of public and corporate affairs at KCCA, Peter Kaujju, the duo's identities could not be revealed to the media as it would jeopardise investigations by Police and KCCA.

"It is true our team has arrested the suspects but we cannot give you the details now as we are still investigating the circumstances under which they receive a title deed," Kaujju said.

KCCA could not also reveal the identity of the developer. By press time it was not clear where the suspects were detained.
