OPM to construct sh500m Luweero regional office

The Prime Minister's office has embarked on a sh500m project to construct a Luweero regional program office of the Luweero-Ruwenzori Development program .
The office complex whose construction has kicked off at the Luweero District headquarters, is to serve former Luweero Triangle Districts in Buganda, according to a statement from the Luweero Triangle Ministry.
The Luweero-Ruwenzori Development program which covers 43 Districts in Buganda and Western Uganda, aims at rehabilitating
war affected families in the war affected areas through grants and wealth creation projects.
Minister without portfolio and former Luweero LC5 Chairman, Abdul Nadduli said the regional office is aimed at bringing services nearer to the people of :Luweero, Nakaseke,Nakasongola and neighbouring districts which form part of the former Luweero Triangle.
Nadduli said the regional offices will save the beneficiaries, most of whom have little education, the burden of travelling to Kampala where they often fell prey to fraudsters.
"Our people, especially veterans have been losing a lot of money to fraudsters in Kampala, but now they will be having the services in their midst," Nadduli said.

Nakasongola LC5 Chairman Samuel Kigula said the regional office will help to services nearer to the people of Nakasongola.
