Micho names Cranes team for Nairobi meet

The squad of 18 home and foreign-based players regroup under coach Milutin Sredejovic.

Six players will join the Uganda Cranes for an international friendly match against Kenya's Harambee Stars at Nyayo stadium on Thursday.

The squad of 18 home and foreign-based players regroup under coach Milutin Sredejovic at Sky Hotel in Ntinda Monday (today)​.

According to the FUFA spokesman Ahmed Hussein, six foreign-based players that are called to beef up the team will connect from their respective clubs directly to the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

Players that will join Cranes in Nairobi include Kenya based Shafiq Batambuze (Tusker), Godfrey Walusimbi (Gor Mahia), Murushid Juuko (Simba, Tanzania), Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (Nijmeh, Lebanon), Crizestom Ntambia (Jimma Aba Buna) and Yassar Mugerwa (Saint George, Ethiopia).

Although Uganda Cranes Micho Sredejovic had hinted on at least eight players to join the national team for the friendly, Emmanuel Okwi is the only name that played at the Nile Special sponsored Cranes na Mutima tour in Kamuli on Sunday.

Okwi, KCCA's Habib Kavuma and Brian Majwega return to the fold after some time out.
