62 arrested in Kabale night operation

Police in Kabale on Tuesday night arrested 62 people in a late night operation.

According to the Kabale District Police Commander, Dickens Bindeeba, the suspects were arrested from various places after they could not identify themselves properly.

Bindeeba said that most of them failed to respond to simple interrogation questions about their presence in the town which prompted Police to round them up.

The operation comes ahead of the Gorillas in the Mist Rally to be held in Kabale this weekend; an event expected to attract thousands.

Bindeeba said they had registered an increasing number of crimes especially burglary and they did not want it to affect participants in the forthcoming rally.

He warned the public against collaborating with strangers so as to avoid falling victims of such criminals.
