Pepsi National Basketball League playoffs (finals)

Best-of -seven series: Game 3 at Lugogo

Series tied on 1-1

Mandy Juruni's side, City Oilers, know they have to up their game in game three of the National Basketball League playoff series on Wednesday at Lugogo.

They allowed series rivals Betway Power to float up to level terms in game two by way of a 54-62 result on Sunday, and will now feel they have to up the ante.

This evening's game presents that opportunity and for both sides, winning the third of seven games will be a huge boost to their title prospects.

While the Oilers are keen on retaining a title they have won the last three years, five-time champions Power are determined to bounce back, having last taken it in 2012.

The last time the two sides vied for the title was 2014, where the Oilers brushed aside Power 4-0 to claim the championship.

It's no walk-over this time though, and Power captain Joseph Ikong says his side will "continue being aggressive and see that we attain the title this time round".

The Oilers have yet to put up their best on the court and if there's any time to thrust the pedal on the metal, it's now.
