Christmas Day mood in seven pictures

Christmas Day. For many, it's a day for making merry while for others, it's business as usual. New Vision photojournalist Wilfred Sanya took a stroll around the city to see what's going. Seven of his pictures capture the mood in town . . .

 He found this man enjoying a shuteye on the entrance of a shop along Market Street

 But along Namirembe Road, no room was left for sleeping as these shoe sellers tried to negotiate a price with a potential buyer

 And not far away at Kikuubo Business Centre in downtown, it was also business as usual as traders looked to make the most of the festive season

 Of course you were not going to expect to find the Old Taxi Park empty, did you?

 But what you would be sure to find forlorn are some normally-busy roads, like the Kampala-Jinja highway. This is the climb up from Shoprite, Lugogo

 So where did everyone go? It's Christmas Day for heavens sake! You see, even the entrance of the National Theatre remained unmanned on the morning of Sunday

 Sometimes, even just five minutes of shuteye can contribute to your being alert later on. But only do so knowing that your merchandise is safe!
