Christmas comes once a year. Get a unique hair style that will make heads turn everywhere you pass. What you must consider when looking for a salon.

"Do not try a new salon unless recommended by a hair specialist. During the Christmas seasons, salons get many clients that some people's hair may not be well attended to," said Dorah Nakirijja, a hairstylist with D and M Salon in Makindye.

Nakirijja advises people not to wait until salons are too busy. You risk being ignored. "I never went back to the saloon where a woman waited for about 2 hours with wet hair without being given any attention," she says.

Vincent Lubega of Lax saloon in Nakawa says that some hair dressers are not conversant with the trendy hairstyle but insist on experimenting. Avoid such saloons.

"I advise people to get a saloon that is conveniently located to save time. And if you must visit a saloon and want undivided attention do so during working days because weekends are usually very busy," he says.

The advantage of going to the saloon when there are few people is that you will also find the towels clean. Lubega says that it is disgusting when there are no dry towels in a saloon and a hair dresser uses a wet towel that was used on someone else to dry your hair.

Brenda Auma, a stylist advises people to visit salons that have professional hair dressers.

"A professional hair dresser will know which type of hair style suits you and how to treat your type of hair," said Auma.

Auma also advises people to go to saloons that also do facial, pedicure and manicure. Because it is time saving for people, who want to have their hair and nails done.

"If you must have a facial, go to a professional beautician. Bad facial bruise the skin," notes Auma.
