Treasurer announces UVF presidential bid

The UVF General Elections are slated for January 8, 2017.

Uganda Volleyball Federation treasurer Joseph Odong has officially announced his intentions to contest for UVF presidency.

The UVF General Elections are slated for January 8, 2017.

In his declaration, Odong argues that his administration will consolidate their current achievements in the sport.

He joins former UVF technical director Eddy Okila and current vice president Hadijja Namanda both of whom have declared their interests in the office.

Whoever becomes the new UVF president, he/she will have a huge task to bring together the currently polarized fraternity.

Currently UVF has suspended its top men's league following withdrawal by the participating clubs, who argue that it was favouring a KAVC against the rest.

Some clubs have also boycotted the league and those that have already accumulated a minimum of three matches consecutively have been thrown out of the league as per the regulations.
