RUGBY: Wokorach, Ochen recalled to 7s team

Rugby Cranes 7s coach Tolbert Onyango has recalled Rugby 15s assistant captain Michael Wokorach to the team ahead of the Dubai 7s in United Arab Emirates due December 2-3.

Wokorach, Asuman Mugerwa, Jasper Ochen, John Odura and Byron Oketayot join the team that won the Africa 7s Cup in Nairobi in September.

"I called them to beef up the team because of their experience and we are working hard to make sure that we live up to standards when we reach in Dubai," Onyango said.

Wokorach a former 7s captain, fly half Ochen who is currently playing for Kenya Harlequins, Oketayot and Mugerwa missed out on the Nairobi tournament.

Onyango said the focus currently is on player conditioning because the challenge will be a tough one and fitness matters a lot.

The other players in training are Philip Wokorach, Solomon Okia, Eric Kasita, James Odong, Adrian Kasito, Robert Anguzu, Alhaji Manano, Kevin Keremundu, Pius Ogena, Lawrence Ssebuliba and Dennis Etau.
