President Museveni in his 2011 manifesto pledged to set up a secondary school in every sub county

Lawmakers in the 10th Parliament have been reminded to follow up on government's commitment to establishing a seed secondary school in each sub county in the country.

President Yoweri Museveni in his 2011 manifesto pledged to set up a secondary school in every sub county.

However a number of sub counties still lack government seed secondary schools.

Paul Esogu the LCV councillor for Apeduru Sub County in Amuria district said his area is among those sub counties without a seed secondary school in the district.

Esogu called upon the MPs to pursue the issue up to its logical conclusion so that the pledge is fulfilled countrywide.

"Once government fulfils its pledge of having secondary schools in every sub county, this will reduce the distance of children traveling to far schools," Esogu told New Vision.
