Uganda fell by seven wickets in their third and final T20 match

Quadrangular T20 Series

Uganda 129/7 Kenya 133/3 (Kenya wins by seven wickets)

It was a humbling end to the Quadrangular series in Kenya for Steve Tikolo and Uganda as a seven-wicket loss to the hosts wrapped up a quest filled with painful lessons.

Uganda fell by seven wickets in their third and final T20 match in the morning and Brian Masaba's side will be heading back to Kampala with plenty of soul-searching.

One victory in six games means the Cricket Cranes have their work cut out ahead of next year's ICC Division 3 World Cricket League and the UCA must find more avenues (such as the Quadrangular Series) to gauge and build up the state of the national side.

If there's one positive about the Quadrangular Series, it is in the exposure of these truths.

Inevitably, today's defeat was the result of another batting no-show as Uganda were restricted to 129/7 in 20 overs, with captain Masaba scoring a team-best 36 off 35. But his knock came when the damage had already been done and Uganda were 5/79.

Deus Muhumuza, another low order batsman, was Uganda's second-highest scorer with 27. Openers Arthur Kyobe and Ham Kayondo managed 25 and 11 runs respectively while Jonathan Sebanja contributed 15.

First drop Zephania Arinaitwe fell for a golden duck while fourth bat Arnold Otwani also went scoreless, in three balls.

The mercurial Irfan Karim scored an unbeaten 70 runs as Kenya made light work of the chase, finishing the job in 15.5 overs.

Irfan Afridi, Henry Ssenyondo and Jonathan Sebanja claimed one wicket apiece for Uganda.
