Katakwi MPs told to lobby for roads

Katakwi district has two constituencies which include Toroma and Usuk counties where Cyrus Amodoi Imalingat and Peter Ogwang hail from respectively and Viola Akurut as the district woman member of parliament.

Members of parliament from the eastern district of Katakwi have been told to lobby for funds to improve the road structure in the district.

The urge was made by William Omeke, the LCIII of Ongongoja Sub County Katakwi district who said that MPs need to focus on infrastructural development in order to attract more investors to the district.

Katakwi district has two constituencies which include Toroma and Usuk counties where Cyrus Amodoi Imalingat and Peter Ogwang hail from respectively and Viola Akurut as the district woman member of parliament.

Ongongoja Sub County falls under Usuk County and Omeke said it is considered remote because of its poor road network.

According to him, feeder roads in his Sub County are in a sorrow state, limiting economic development in the sub county.

He added infrastructural development in his sub county will link the sub county to many investors' preferences to establish businesses there.

Omeke highlighted that business activities will be boosted in the Sub County once the roads linking the sub county to the district are improved.

When new vision tried to get the comment from the mentioned members of parliament, their known contacts were unreachable.

The members of parliament who fall in the ruling party and the opposition parties all vowed to improve the road network in katakwi to boost business and it's to this count that locals are demanding for action.
