Okaje said his office has received information that some individuals are budding or grafting indigenous breeds of mangoes and oranges and sell to people at a high price claiming that they are improved seedlings.

The secretary works and production Kamuda sub-county in Soroti district, Fredrick Samuel Okaje has advised the locals to be vigilant while buying mango and citrus seedlings from nursery beds.

Okaje said his office has received information that some individuals are budding or grafting indigenous breeds of mangoes and oranges and sell to people at a high price claiming that they are improved seedlings.

According to Okaje efforts to establish those doing a disservice to the community are being taken by the sub-county authorities.

However, he has also cautioned those involved in the business of budding mangoes to stop it or else face the wrath of the law.
